The first phase of the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup program is now complete and ten semi-finalists have been selected from across the country (see links below). Thank you all for your tremendous support of the program. In the end, we had 134 video submissions, up from 82 last year. The good deeds were once again thoughtful, caring and meaningful. We can all be very proud of the teams and the stories, proving that together we don’t just create great hockey players, we create great citizens.
From the ten semi-finalists below, three finalists will be selected by form of public vote on Chevrolet Canada’s YouTube channel. From January 15-28, all ten semi-finalist videos will be posted – the three videos with the most YouTube views by midnight on January 28th will become the finalists, announced publicly by Chevrolet Canada on February 8th.
The Champion Selection Process will take place from February 9 – March 6 when the three finalist videos are reviewed by a panel of judges from Chevrolet, Hockey Canada and Chevrolet’s agency. The judging criteria for this portion of the program is as follows: (i) number of YouTube views during the finalist selection viewing period; (ii) impact of the good deed on the community; and (iii) community engagement. The winning team will be notified through their coach on March 6th. The ten semi-finalists are being advised prior to a public announcement and TSN will be airing a compilation video during the WJC gold medal game.
