Hockey Eastern Ontario Minor (HEOMINOR) promotes and fosters minor hockey in Eastern Ontario region stretching from Barry's Bay, Alexandria, Westport to Hawkesbury. We are the parent organization to the ten regional districts that run the various neighbourhood minor hockey associations. HEOMinor was previously known as the ODMHA.

It is with profound sadness that ODMHA announces the sudden passing of Chuck Riordan while attending the All Ontario PeeWee Championships as the ODMHA Representative.
Chuck devoted much of his life to minor hockey and was passionate in all that he did for the kids. After first putting in time with the West Carleton Association, Chuck served as District 4 Chair for many years and in 2004 he was elected to ODMHA as the Zoning & Constitution Director. In 2006, Chuck was elected to the position of Second Vice President and remained in that position until his passing. As 2nd VP Chuck was responsible for coordinating and approving all of the Tournament Sanctions and for overseeing the Tournament of Champions each year, making sure that every successive year was better than the last. In addition to his assigned tasks, Chuck was a ready volunteer for any and all additional Committees.
It is no exaggeration that Chuck’s passing has left a huge hole in this Organization and he will be sorely missed.
The Tournament of Champions is complete for another year.
The winner of the Atom division was the Leitrim Hawks and the winner of the PeeWee division was the Mississippi Thunder Kings
The Juvenile Tournament of Champions was held in Renfrew
The winner of the Minor Midget division was the Kanata Blazers and Major Midget was won by Cumberland Grads
Brockville Minor Hockey Association hosted the Bantam division which was won by Nepean Raiders.
This week is the All Ontario PeeWee Championships and ODMHA is being represented by the Ottawa Valley Silver Sevens. The tournament began Monday in Waterloo and we will be posting updates through the week.
As of Thursday afternoon. On Monday he Silver Seven played the Nickel City Sons and won 8 to 1.
Tuesday morning they played the Toronto Nationals and lost 6 to 1 and they played the Quinte Red Devils tonight and suffered another loss. This time 4 to 1
Wednesday they played the London Jr. Knights at noon and lost 6 to 0 and then defeated the Thunder Bay Kings 6 to 2 tonight.
The final game of the round robin saw them win against the Waterloo Wolves 6 to 4.
In their semi final game against the Toronto Nationals on Friday the Silver Seven lost 6 to 1.
Good show to make it into the semi's.
The ODMHA would like to send a resounding congratulations to the Ottawa Valley Silver Seven PeeWee AA team which brought home the Bronze medal from the Ontario Winter games this weekend. The Silver Seven scored the winning goal with 0.1 seconds left in the game and according to eyewitness accounts by our President, Dodie Malcolm, it was very exciting.
Well done team!
The ODHA is hosting a High Performance I/II coaching seminar this July 3-8 in Cornwall in conjunction with the Team Ontario under-17 regional camp.
The application form for the HP I portion is on the ODHA web site here: http://www.odha.com/oldsite/Global/PDF/HPIapplication.pdf. We urge all associations to encourage current and past elite level and potentially elite level coaches to apply. Why? Because...
- The 16 candidates accepted for this program will spend the week working with current elite coaches obtaining their HP II designation. These coaches are generally from the CHL and CIS and thus bring a wealth of experience to the table.
- Candidates will be able to work directly with the Team Ontario staff and have a first-hand look at the selection process and planning for high performance athletes
- This seminar aims to train coaches to function effectively at an elite level
- It provides a foundation and reference tool for mentorship in your organization
